It's too bad, because some of her thoughts about sexual health, society's attitudes about sex, the socio-economic value of feminine virginity as a unit of cultural value, navigating the sexual politics of consent to prioritize the safety of all involved, and the importance of creating a society where we can have candid conversations about sex without resorting to euphemism and judgements, these views seemed really spot on. But now you can't really use any of that without laying down a series of caveats and qualifications divorcing those ideas from her more recent work. --- Whatever happened to standards?
