If somebody is lonely simply because they don't have a s/o, the rest of their life must be pretty pathetic. That'd mean they'd have no friends, no family, no co-workers, and no other relationships. And, if that kind of a person did get in a relationship, they'd probably make their s/o miserable because they'd be insufferably clingy. Those kind of people should be more concerned with building up the rest of their life rather than just looking for a s/o.

back in the day i wasn't lonely i had friends family ect. but there comes a point where you sit at home alone all ur friends not there ur house is empty and quiet. hard to explain. humans need companionship from a significant other eventually at some point.

s/os come and go. It's your friends, family, etc, that'll be around. The kind of people who expect a s/o will complete their lives inevitably wind up disappointed. And, having cohabbed with both romantic partners and platonic roommates, I can assure you that most people overrate the experience. Quite frankly, I prefer keeping separate residences with a partner. The only must for co-habbing is if you have kids.
