$100k is not rich, but it's still pretty damn good and definitely not lower middle class in NYC. Maybe midtown Manhattan, but not the rest of city nor the surrounding Tristate area. You can live very comfortably with a lot of luxury.

Lol no.

The housing market is becoming out of control in queens and Brooklyn and even Staten island.

1800sqft homes are going for 700k and 7k a year in taxes in Staten island. Single family homes in Brooklyn are over a million in most desirable areas.

Do you know many people with 140k-200k to put down on a home?

Average is more like $500k and $3-4k in taxes inside the city. Which is way cheaper than even the surrounding suburbs like Nassau, Westchester or Central NJ. It's also been pretty much that for years.

I own property in Queens and know tons and tons of people throughout the entire city and the Tristate area that have amazing houses, are doing excellent with everything and they are mostly making $70-$120k.

The richer people I know that make $200k-$500k are actually mostly living on rent, with property in other states.
