Maybe midtown Manhattan, but not the rest of city nor the surrounding Tristate area. You can live very comfortably with a lot of luxury. Average is more like $500k and $3-4k in taxes inside the city. Which is way cheaper than even the surrounding suburbs like Nassau, Westchester or Central NJ. It's also been pretty much that for years. I own property in Queens and know tons and tons of people throughout the entire city and the Tristate area that have amazing houses, are doing excellent with everything and they are mostly making $70-$120k. The richer people I know that make $200k-$500k are actually mostly living on rent, with property in other states. --- It all just disappears, doesn't it?
