Advocating censorship would be saying that the government should ban the sale of Call of Duty games in the first place...

And the gore and language adds little, if anything, to the CoD experience itself - suggesting otherwise would just make you a hypocrite regarding "bringing feels" into the equation.

I don't think there's a direct correlation between the facts that CoD 4 sold well and that it was M-rated.

You literally suggested that Call of Duty should tone down its content to meet the Teen rating because you felt that the Mature-rated content in those games are gratuitous. That's basically the general idea of censorship.

Nowhere did I say that the mature content in Call of Duty contributed to the sales, nor did I ever say it adds much to the experience. All I said was that there's nothing wrong with implementing the more realistic aspects such as blood and bad language in an otherwise arcade-like game. That's the developer's decision, who are you think you are to stop them? Arcade-simulation hybrid games exist, you know. Not everything has to be black and white.
