The biggest issues I run into when soloing are the time limits, and/or having the levels apex predator (or just a strong monster) show up while Im fighting. Im not quite strong enough yet to solo two monsters. Definitely not a monster + the apex. The time limit isnt that bad. Each level only spawns three big baddies at a time (there are usually dozens of smaller monsters). Theyll try to escape after a while and move about the level, so theres some chasing involved, and if you dont kill them fast enough they might leave the level entirely and a different monster will spawn in somewhere.
