I must be naive or the exact opposite of racist or something, because my brain never computes things like this to racism. Or like when ESPN had that "Chink in the armor" headline and everyone went nuts (source: https://www.cnn.com/2012/02/19/sport/espn-lin-slur/index.html), and I'm sitting here like it's a very common figure of speech for when something invincible cracks. I cannot wrap my brain around how the perpetually offended crowd thinks.

Honestly Im not sure how to fix it but I hate how we continually allow the worst parts of humanity to make more and more words taboo by misusing them. We are literally letting the assholes define our language and yet how do we fight back against it?

I mean objectively speaking anyone like me who believes in evolution knows all humans have a common anscestor with monkeys and we are all primates but I would also feel like a racist asshole if I used it like, you know.

And its all because In the past some dickheads misused the word as an insult repeatedly. As someone who appreciates language I hate how we ruin our own.
