lol at people trying to defend it

If you're an adult and you don't associate with people because their opinions are different from yours, there's something wrong with you.

Better go find some racists to associate with, they're only different opinions, it would be closed minded of me to not listen to them yell slurs at me.

Did you miss the 3 years dating part in the OP? If someone hasnt done something to define themselves as racist in 3 years of dating them, guess what?

It's not about being racist or anything, if something about the guy made her reconsider him a suitable partner, what does 3 years matter? She doesn't owe him a second chance because they've been together a long time.

Youre right. Previous experience cannot at all be a predictor of future behavior /sarcasm. This has nothing to do with a sunk cost. Rather, it has to do with an established relationship and its actual depth. Clearly, the example in the OP would be an example of a shallow relationship. My wife and I have been together for four years now. I dont need to ask her how she feels about something because I already know. We know each other that well when it comes to the important stuff. We have only been together one year longer than the OP example. Our knowledge of each other didnt suddenly start in the last year.

Frankly, it is really irrelevant why a girl decides to break up with her boyfriend. I will say it again. Either he, she, or both is/are quite shallow. Both will be better off in the end for having ended the relationship.
