They would have already done that to get the warrant required to raid the home. Hard evidence would secure a conviction though. Yeah it's a novel concept if you don't have hard evidence maybe don't arrest people or raid their homes and kill them. Who would have thought. Not to mention, raiding a house does not guarantee that they'll find any evidence or catch anyone "red-handed". As was already pointed out, it's overly hostile. US police forces are becoming more and more militarized, and they're hiring more and more officers and giving them inadequate training before unleashing these frightened and trigger-happy cops onto the population. Innocent people are being shot dead in their homes. Aside from this old woman, a swatting victim was gunned down by cops recently.
