The jury went against the judges wishes, finding Gloria Romero-Perez guilty of continuous trafficking of a person and later sentenced her to 25 years in prison. They found her not guilty of a separate charge of sale or purchase of a child.

Wouldn't that be god's wishes? >_>

Otherwise the story is written weird because the jury can't sentence a defendant, only a judge can do that. The jury can find them guilty of specific charges which may carry a mandatory minimum, but it's not the same thing.

More interesting story is the Ramp of Mystery
