Topic	so wait, is a text alert really the only defense Hawaii has from nukes?

There are some in place, but they barely work in controlled environments let alone against an actual surprise launch, where they've never been tested. The reliability of individual systems is spotty at best but I am curious if the systems have ever been fully tested in conjunction with another. At the very least there's more than just a text message system. iirc they're somewhat reliable if they can hit the missile while it's still accelerating from launch. Once they're in space or descending at ridiculous speeds there's no way you're intercepting them. Well yeah because at that point it's not about the 20+ meter missile itself.
