But I think the whole book thing is kinda weird, still. And people probably shouldn't just give people's numbers out like that, anyway.

It's not a matter of a book, it's being given the number of *any* third-party. The concept of the black book is -- as already mentioned -- obsolete, considering that the same info can just be stored in your cell phone.
