Socom on PS2 was pretty social, but the game itself was really boring compared to what Xbox had. PS3 was a huge step backwards in that nobody had mics and online MP was not social at all. That has gotten better with PS4 but it only took 2 whole console generations, and even now, PS4 online still lacks compared to the OG Xbox in the early-mid 2000s.
