I bought a high end iMac a few years ago to play PC games as a little bonus. But it wasn't until 2015 where I started playing more and more PC games. I was originally waiting for PS4 to have a better library of First-Party games before I made the purchase. But with a huge library of PC games, visual fidelity, performance, friends, and OS, I was finding it hard to go back to console gaming.

I eventually did buy a PS4 but I never play it. I had an Xbox One S but sold it. There's something about the PS4's UI I can't put my finger on and I never liked Xbox One's UI at all. I'm still not ready to buy a Switch yet. There are games I want for it, but I can wait for them.

I understand why so many people choose consoles over PCs, but at the same time I do question it when console gaming isn't as "plug and play" as it used to be and with PC gaming being more user friendly than ever.

But I don't want to go back to consoles. Both consoles and PCs have their pros and cons depending on the person, but the PC pros outweight the cons. And in my opinion, consoles have many negatives.

PC pros:
-Upgradeable
-Huge library
-Backwards compatibility
-Mods
-Don't have to waste money to play online
-Typically faster download speeds
-Text chat
-Far more user options (adjustable visuals, adjustable performance, key mapping, controllers, etc.)

PC cons:
-More expensive (especially with all the crypto-currency miners)
-Some publishers/developers don't support PC gaming as much or at all (like Atlus)
(That's all I could think of as of this post)

Console pros:
-Most games are available on physical format
-Cross-Play (Some Xbox games with PC & Switch, SFV with PS4 and PC, a few other games)
-No need to play with the settings before playing a game (I like to play around with the settings on PC)
-First-Party and Exclusive games

Console cons:
-Inferior visuals and performance
-Pay to play online
-Installing games (its fast on PS4, but extremely slow on Xbox One)
-Huge install sizes and patch sizes
-Digital game prices aren't on par with PC game prices yet
-No text chat in most games

That's all I wanted to list.

Again, these are all MY opinions. I'm not against console gaming and I'm not one of those "PC Master Race" people. I guess I just wanted to share what I like about PC gaming. I am saving up money to buy a PC and I could have just used the money to buy a PS4 Pro or Switch, but for the reasons I already mentioned I wouldn't want to go back to having console gaming as my main platform. And I was pretty board so I decided to make this topic and because I miss playing PC games. I can't wait to buy a new PC.
