I never denied that, my point is they are far from the point of being completely mainstream this day and age and were grandfathered in for lack of a better term, you aren't going going to hear Maiden or Sabbath on any hits stations either mainly Rock or Classic Rock stations and if It's a modern Rock station they will be heard much less than modern artists who will get more airtime to push their albums Your average person off the street isn' t going to have knowledge of any Iron Maiden or Judas Priest songs DirkDiggles posted... If a band is selling out venues, one of the main attractions at festivals, and getting plenty of air play and music videos, then that pretty much makers them mainstream, does it not? None of those things count as mainstream success Do you know how many obscure ass bands I've seen at huge fests like MDF with giant crowds? If you're selling out small clubs that barely hold a hundred people, then no that is not mainstream, nor is making a small budget music video Even huge Metal bands that play arenas regularly like Lamb of God's popularity is dwarfed in comparison of actual mainstream artists --- ...
