I never use the Start menu anyway, I just have stuff on my desktop or I just go through the computer thing, search or stuff Since you're coming from 7, you should know that you can still search in the Start menu (shortcut is the Windows key), AND you can also search with the built-in search assistant Cortana (shortcut is Windows key + Q). I'll prob uninstall cortana You can disable it but can't really uninstall it (though you can set Windows to a language and region where Cortana isn't enabled...
