It goes even further than expressions. The way we give directions is...well...yeah.
"You know that big bend in the road where Jethro's heifer gave birth to those twin calves last January and stopped traffic for 5 hours? Take a left there. Then drive about 3 minutes and you'll see the wagon wheels on the gate. Drive over the first 3 cattle guards and you'll see that old tree Paul's son lit on fire the night he graduated high school. You know that son of bitch Paul still owes me $20 for letting his no-good son use my tractor to pull his truck out of the mud last week. If you see him, you tell him I said that. You go past the tree and you'll see a house on the left. Just go on in. Door is always open."
