| AlisLandale 12/16/17 1:33:01 PM #30: | The "Unova Only" gimmick is why I still played Pokemon as long as I did. I was decidedly done with Pokemon, having felt Platinum was enough. Hearing that Unova would be completely removed from everything I was familiar with, I decided to try to go in unspoiled. That was a great experience, actually. GameFreak still managed to fuck it up a little, since so many Pokemon were obvious and inferior expies of older Pokemon, but still, being able to go into caves and not see the usual suspects was refreshing. Also some Pokemon were just straight badass, like Scolipede. I dunno how easy it would be to play them again since the freshness is gone, but for the point in time they were released, I loved them. Got to have one last "new" adventure before I got totally sick of the series.
