Not that I was enamored with the story up to that point, but in the final mission, the entire goal is to get Martin Septim, newly crowned emperor, to the temple of the one. Doing so will prevent Bad Things from happening. So literally all you do is escort Martin past some demons, and then he morphs into a dragon and saves the day. Granted, that's kind of cool in a way, but it might be nice if your actions meant something, or that anyone noticed you were involved or anything. After you reach the ending, it's just, huh, we've got a new statue. Okay, let's go about our lives now. ---
