Baking as a present is great because it seems like it's really thoughtful and personal because it's homemade, but it actually requires very little thought beyond knowledge of what they don't like/are allergic to, and it can be pretty cheap. Plus 30-40% of a batch of cookies makes a pretty solid gift, which means you've got 60-70% left for yourself and/or other people's gifts. --- This is my signature.
