However, after everything was taken out( taxes, 401k, etc), it ended up being a few hundred over $3k a month. And I lived extremely comfortably. Rent and utilities was maybe $1500. Food and other daily expenses were $500 or less. I was saving a minimum of $1k a month. I have a feeling you guys are just thinking about this in comparison to your yearly salary.
