The difference is if you spraypaint my car while I'm sleeping, I'll wake up and notice it right away in the morning. If you spraypaint a self-driving car it goes around the country for miles. The reason it doesn't happen is because people are watching and will cause issues / notify police if you try. The self driving cars have already been sabotaged by taking advantage of their AI patterns, although mostly for harmless fun things.
