Conservatives feel culturally oppressed. If you go to a very conservative area, it is liberals who will feel culturally oppressed, as I did when I spent several weeks in small-town Iowa, where people felt entitled to asking me what my religion was, then talking down to me and telling me what Id eventually find something if I kept searching. Incidentally, this is why I feel so pessimistic about the future of this nation.
