Not that much. I was a late adopter and I've mostly used it to at least partly keep track of family, friends, and former co-wokers. If I can't find somebody's contact info for whatever reason, it gives me one more way to get in touch with them.

In general, I can't stand using it that much given all of the shitty hack political memes.

this past election made me come close to leaving facebook for good. I did lose a friend over it.

Yeah, same... I got sooooo tired of every fucking post being about Donald Trump prior to the election then Hillary after it before more Trump. 2 more years until the machine revs up again for 2020's down there... In Canada, there are a shit-ton of rules about money and elections, so ours are like 2 months of ads followed by the election. It comes and goes and is much more palatable.

yeah for me I have about a even divide of people that supported one or the other as friends/family on my friendslist. I never posted anything political. the friend I lost over it though, I simply made a comment in a non aggressive manner on something he posted. something dealing with a particular issue moreso than a candidate

Most of my friends are traditional liberals, a few lean towards modern liberalism (ugh), but we just have an unspoken truce and respect each other's views by not commenting... the rest of my friends and the majority of my family are moderate conservative to centrist.
