You misunderstand me.

Spirit of Justice is a piece of shit game.

It's just not as bad as Apollo Justice.

Oh fair enough, I get 100% why people hate AJ, personally I do like it though in spite of its issues.

I dunno what you mean by paced.

Two main issues. Firstly, guitar dude's gimmick really fucks up the pacing of all the dialogue in the case. It was slow and frustrating. In some AA games characters will have an animation during testimony, but after going through it once, you can press A to skip to the end just fine. Here it was a really annoying slog to pass from one piece of testimony to the next, which is pretty poor design for a visual novel. And god forbid you Pressed a statement that turned out not to be relevant, because you were punished with annoying and snail-paced 'singing' from the witness and Payne. The only good thing that came from this over-done gimmick was Phoenix's comment about asking for 'a low-key' trial, which is admittedly a pretty good pun

Additionally, it was clear that they had no idea how to end the trial; they just wanted another 'oh shit' display like Phoenix did in 5-1, which was a much better case. Once Phoenix solves the puzzle, he's just like "ayy lmao check it" and then the game, very jarringly, goes right into the witness breaking down. There's no dialogue that ties together the significance of the solved mysteries and their combined meaning as implicating the witness.

I do think that his actions giving the situation are really forgivable.

I can't agree, I've practically written essays about it elsewhere. Essentially, the game's writing makes it so that Dhurke is either massively incompetent or just doesn't give as much of a shit about Apollo as he does his blood family.
