Currently Disney goes out of their way to make culturally accurate characters based on actual folk tales and legends. Moana isn't a racist character, and kids dressing up as her isn't cultural appropriation. This whole thing puts minorities in a weird spot when they demand better representation in film, but then complain the instant they're represented and get the standard movie character treatment.
