But, set it in the wintertime. Have the Jason fodder go ice fishing or whatever for the weekend. You could play around so much with the winter setting - winter kills (icicles, snowmobiles, snowblowers, various ice related tools etc), tracks in the snow, heavy snowfall, the frozen lake would make for a good chase scene, Jason in heavy shredded winter clothing would look badass, etc. I'd be all over that.

I was going to say, instead of another gimmick, just return to crystal lake and have Jason kill some more horny drunken pot smoking teens, but your idea sounds much better.
