Was watching all of those recently and noticed that after the 4th movie things get kind of stupid, but after the 5th one they really go down hill.
I know that the story wasn't meant to be taken too seriously. Every movie is about a group of people, whether it be counselors, campers, or just regular citizens, who get killed by a monster with no personality, except in the 1st movie.
But lets say for a second that we take the story seriously. Here's what we have left:
Part 2 - The heroine and her man survive Part 3 - The girl who is the main character survives, even though she goes crazy Part 4 - Tommy Jarvis and his sister survive and Jason dies (and should have stayed dead) Part 5 - We get a new killer who dies in the same movie but at least it's not as bad as:
Part 6 - Jason comes back to life by getting struck by lighting and Tommy survives again (this is where the series really went to shit) Part 7 - Telekinesis girls survives... lets just forget that part 6 through 10 ever happened Part 8 - Forgot about what happened at the end because I lost interest in Jason going to Manhattan... from this point forward the original story is lost Part 9 - Jason goes to Hell and should have stayed there Part 10 - Jason X... Jason in outer space...wtf were they thinking
Then there was the remake which was decent but not sure how he went from going to space to back at the lake or if he even did since it wasn't explained. I'm guessing this one doesn't count towards the story.
Ok, so here's what we have if we ignore Part 6 through 10: - The couple from part 2 is still alive - The girl from part 3 - Tommy Jarvis - Also, we never found out what happened to Jason's dad or if he had any siblings...
So if I were writing the next movie, in the beginning I would have them poke fun at Part 6 through 10, especially part 10 and the characters could say something like "Can you believe they based these horrible movies off of those murders from the 80's? What the fuck were they thinking?" And another character could say, "Yeah, trying to continue true events with stupid fake storylines is the dumbest shit ever." And that would be that.
I would say go back to Crystal Lake, no more Jason. But maybe have Tommy Jarvis go crazy and be the killer. They could even have Cory Feldman play the part and have Jason's old mask so we think it's him. Maybe Jason has a younger brother or sister we don't know about who could be among them so we think they are the killer.
Just an idea.
I thought it was pretty obvious but that's what they originally wanted to do. They brought Jason back because it's what people wanted ---
