Try intermittent fasting. I cant personally vouch for it because Ive only been doing it for a few days. However, based on the research Ive been doing on it and watching the success of random normal people on YouTube, it seems like a decent way to go.

Almost everyone will tell you that youre going to die, youll lose muscle, youre doing damage to your organs, etc. All that is based on old out dated science. Your body doesnt go into starvation mode until 72 hours. Youre going to be resetting the clock long before that.

The general gist is to fast for 16 hours, then you have an 8 hour window that you can eat. My window is from 3pm-11pm. Any other time I do not consume any calories.

You have two fuel tanks. One runs on food the other runs on your fat. If youre constantly filling up your food tank, then your body never switches over to your fat tank. And youll have a hard time losing weight.

Calories in and calories out is the way to lose weight, theres just no other way around it. You can go to the gym and bust out those 2,000 calories you ate so that your body can access your fat reserve...or you can just not fill up the tank so your body accesses the fat reserve. Either way the same thing is happening in your body.

This is not a new concept. Eating 3 meals a day is a new concept and as a society we have gotten fatter and fatter because of it. Our ancestors, and people in certain parts of the world today, have long periods of fasting because food isnt always available. People would hunt for the food and they didnt always eat every day. Our ancestors were intermittent fasters. It was just involuntary at the time, but that is how our bodies have evolved.

Modern day predators do the same thing. They dont eat every day. During the time they dont eat theyre running on their fat reserves. Your body doesnt go into starvation mode if you have 100lbs of reserve fuel laying around. It makes no sense for your body to start eating its muscles and organs, the very tool that your body needs to get more food, when there is an abundance of fat laying around waiting to be used.

I've always lived like this without realising. I never eat breakfast for example. Good to know I'm not a lunatic
