#39 ElimiFUCKINGnator (The Eliminator, Re:Coded)

"Caution! A powerful enemy is near!"

Yeah, fuck you too game, thanks for the heads up seconds before I died...

Ok. I'm gonna be salty here. I don't think I've ever even used that word non ironically before (or talking about actual food...) but I will here.....

Holy god this was bad design.

Ok, look. You certainly could accidentally go to Land of Departure in BBS and run into MF. Or as has been pointed out, lose track of where the RTC point is in Days and accidentally meet Dust Flier, or end up facing Phantom in KH because Tink asked if you wanted to go to the clock tower... and helol yeah you do, there are prizes everyhour there, or just talk to Sephiroth cause he looks all cool over by that cliff and maybe it will lead to a cool scene... And meet your quick end to a Secret Boss. It happens, whatever, didn't really lose anything out of it, and its easy enough to avoid now. But this.... THIS FUCKING MONSTROSITY OF BAD GAME DESIGN!!!!!! If you face him, and die (and you will die) you have to start all over again. This is a 99 floor dungeon mind you.

Oh, one more thing. I bet you none of you ever accidentally ran into those bosses at LEVEL FUCKING TWENTY SIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I honest to God can't fathom the throught process at this. The fight is random. Not like
You need good RNG to win random, but like the literal guy showing up is random.

So yes. There are horror stories of people facing him in like 3 out of 4 rooms on the way up this gauntlet.

You would think the fight would at least be avoidable if he's in the room, since he's a Super Boss that just happens to be a random enemy and no way they would make you fight this thing and waste all this time.. hahahah. Fuck you Squeenix and Disney said. His AI number one program is to chase you down, so it won't be easy to escape. Oh yeah, and he teleports while chasing as well, to make sure you can't escape. CAUSE FUCK YOU THAT'S WHY!!!! He's a reskin of a Defender, so he's friggin huge and can extend his shield to hit you. Oh, and like the normal Defender he shoots fireballs. Unlike the normal defender they go faster than a Super Glide does, track you, have 3 shot at you at a time, more or less instant KO you, and hit you the second your I frames run off on your dodge.

Imagine walking through the Pharos, and Yiazmut randomly appears, but he's also incredibly fast, can hit you from anywhere, track you, teleport in front of you to block your exit to leave.... This guy is Warmech from 1987 in 2008... I don't think Square had done this since Iron Giant in Final Fantasy III in 1990. The last time they did this Nintendo Hard was still a thing.

Legit. No exaggeration. People die to this fight in 3 seconds. People die to this fight before the warning is finished scrolling up on the screen. People die to this fight before they even see the enemy. People die to this fight when he is on the other side of the stage and he insta teleports to you and kills you. People die this fight trying to escape, trying to go head on... doesn't matter. People die to this fight.

When you do finally decide you are strong enough to fight him and you aren't below level 30 and ambush fodder anymore, it's all about kill him quick. He's immune from all damage from the front (he is a Defender after all) but the AoE Thunder charge (or whatever it's call) ability can do him in fast. Like Buggy Roxas and Data Data Riku he can easily be beat in under a minute (in fact this guy can go down in 30'secinds) once you are actually equipped to face him. But even then one wrong move and you are boned.

And with that we cleared out our first game.
