Circa Survive - The Amulet (Bane)

I'm not super feeling this. I don't like Anthony Green enough to care about a song that is carried entirely by his clean vocals. I prefer his unclean singing -- there's nothing musically interesting with this song, which is inherently anti-Circa Survive. Just kinda boring tbh. I'd rank it fairly low among Circa Survive tracks.

Incubus - New Skin (Snake)

Incubus makes me sad now with how unquestionably terrible their new stuff is. They released a pseudo-pop EP about making out and stuff ... it really blew. But Incubus is one of my favorite bands, and this is probably one of their top 10 tracks, though not personally in my top five.

Louis Cole - You Will See (Mycro)

This is bad and nothing about it is good. I'd rather drag my dick and balls through 10 yards of broken glass than listen to another second of it.

Steve Lacy - Dark Red (Cokes)

I dig this. I feel like it's missing something but I'm not sure what. I feel like I want it to be either more soulful, or more punk, or more ... something. More in one direction. I enjoyed it a lot though.

SZA - Drew Barrymore (mcflubbin)

I wish the vocal track wasn't so much louder than the rest. Some better mixing (it's possible that YouTube is to blame for this, too) or something would make this a song I love instead of one I merely like. I've heard of SZA but haven't really listened that much. Will give more of it a listen.

Sampha - No One Knows Me Like The Piano (VI)

This is really good, though I really don't like the chorus. I think it's the weakest part of the song and does a disservice to dude's singing.

Organ Freeman - Go by Richard, Not by Dick (Seginus)

I was already familiar with this track before and I just ... like it a lot. I like the breakdowns the most and could listen to a mix of this song that never stops, really.

London Symphony - Purple Rain (Tera)

This is unique, I'll give it that, but I'd rather just listen to the original and don't see myself actively seeking this out.

Chase - Open Up Wide (Shad)

Phew, there's not really anything I like about this, to be honest. It seems competent at what it's going for but I ... don't want to hear any more of it?

Frank Turner - Worse Things Happen At Sea (Brohan)

I love Frank Turner already. This isn't one of my favorite songs of his, but it's good. I do think some of his best songs sound like storytelling, and this is one of them.

Twelve Foot Ninja - Collateral (Steiner)

Is this topic series just going to be Steiner introducing me to bands I've heard of but never listened to? I'm not a huge fan of the vocalist, but he grew on me as the song progressed and I really loved the music. The progression of the song was pretty perfect, loved the intro, this was great.
