eh some people are collectors others are oddities that prefer older even if crappier stuff, probably for nostalgia reasons. I mean people buy used comic books all the time and don't even read them. they just care that its in good condition and in their collection.

Yeah. As a music example, there's a difference between buying an album on vinyl, which still has it's place in the music world (some would argue that a pristine vinyl sounds better than any other format) versus buying it on audio cassette, which at this point would just be for novelty.
