If my child refused to participate I would want the teacher to communicate this to me.

Because I care about my child's thoughts and feelings and like to discuss them to help them rationalize and grow.

It's called having a relationship and good parenting.

Literally acting like being involved with your child and their decision making thought processes is a bad thing wtf is wrong with you people.
