The school system does not need to confirm anything with the parents. Again,Supreme Court ruling.

But they should still reach-out to the parent and explain if you see "odd" behavior. If you have 99% participation and 1 kid not it's usually a good idea to find out if the parent is aware of the situation.

Nothing wrong with this.

Also I highly doubt the teach YANKED the kid up.

This is a publicity stunt planted by the parents end of story. Now they will make a lot of noise and sue and cash checks because "Murica"

There's nothing to inform the parents about. Kids are free to sit and it's not out of the ordinary for them to do so.
