| Doe 11/13/23 4:26:50 PM #8: | The idea in a nutshell is that when advancing through the same company there may be a pay structure where you only get a percentage of your last salary as a raise however many new responsibilities you take on, which can leave you falling way behind what they'd pay an external hire to secure them to the position . But doing it every year just sounds like a headache and will raise red flags. Plus you might find a position with great benefits/culture and risk switching into unknown garbage
