The key point there is that other countries pay living wages, access to free medical care, better leave benefits, better opportunities for work-life balance, access to cheaper higher education, etc. that you won't find with private employers in the US. I'm looking at a Master's from a top 100 university in Sweden that will cost a whopping $25,000.
