But left over food is also bad for enamel, since bacteria eat it and shit acid out, and contribute to gingivitis, breath, etc. Starving the bacteria seems common sense to me. Regardless of what is actually true, my mouth feels best if I brush after. Like I said, You're supposed to brush first thing in the morning and then 20-30 minutes after you eat.
