What I find confusing is that we have enough resources to evenly allocate throughout the world's population, yet we put rules on an economic system that should be arbitrary and call it scarcity because people want to be selfish and withhold for profit. We don't have an abundance of goods in the world, but there's enough resources so that everybody doesn't have to suffer. So in that sense, we are sort of living in a post scarcity society or have the potential to.

We're definitely living in a post scarcity world compared to like a hundred years ago or decades ago.

But yeah, I think we can and should be better about distribution of the goods we have, specifically money. Giving people money works really good to actually reduce poverty (increase in child tax credit during COVID significantly lowered child poverty rates).
