It's not called anything but a clock elsewhere in the world. It's the standard, so when you see a clock or a person using 12:15 PM, then they are using "American time." Whereas everyone else is just using "time".

I meant the specifics of using 24 hour time, not what a clock is. But really, I had no idea it was just an American thing. Guess I just never been in a conversation with someone not an American about time before
