Israel is the one who has leveled entire neighborhoods as a response to rockets they successfully shot down, destroyed an entire news media building that was reporting on the atrocities they were committing by claiming "dur Hamas was in dere!" as a justification and has continuously oppressed the people in the West Bank, stealing their homes from them, controlling where they can and can't go on land they've owned for generations, and forcing an apartheid state for Palestinians who can't escape their grasp.

That doesn't justify the innocent civilians Hamas hurts and kills, however it definitely helps with their recruitment efforts and are reasons they use to justify their violence.

Israel through its own oppressive brutality tactics has created their own monster and they don't want to do anything that would actually subdue it because it allows them to play victim on the world stage and get international help, like how Biden and the U.S. just sent them money.

This new oppressive government with Bibi forming the furthest and most bigoted far-right coalition they've ever had is only set to make the situation worse, as we've seen.
