I think the movie did well to expand the characters of John and Amanda more than anything. And I feel like I didn't have to suspend disbelief or question "did they really deserve this...?" like the guy who called in sick to work or the people who were cheated on by the girl?

Those types of things in the other movies dragged the movie below the lore chain of it all. I wonder if we'll see Cecilia again because I feel like, although they got a bit cartoonish at the end, actually felt like a villain, which I'm not sure I can say about any of the other movies.

The guy defrauded his insurance company by claiming he was incredibly ill, and that's why insurance companies routinely deny people who actually need help, like John himself, when he was denied access to proper healthcare.

I get the point he was making, sure that guy's actions were seemingly innocuous, but those types of actions are why we literally have people picking and choosing who gets coverage and who doesn't.
