Georgia recently enacted a law that would allow the state legislature to remove "rogue" prosecutors. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together foresaw that Republicans wanted to use this to remove Fani Willis from office, even though she's an elected official, because she was investigating Donald Trump. I believe the governor signed the law and said the law wouldn't be used against her.

Fast forward to recent months, Fani Willis has indicted Donald Trump. Moore was pushing for the governor to call the legislature into a special session just to use that law to remove Fani Willis from office. Brian Kemp, fortunately, gave a stern public response saying he wouldn't do that.

This is one thing I'm finding kinda interesting about the state of the GOP today. It seems like the majority of state level Republicans in Georgia cannot stand Donald Trump any more due to what he did to their state and their constituents after the 2020 election. There are still some Trump sycophants in the party, but overall, Georgia is not having it.

I should have known this since I reside in the state :p

I remember state GOP making lots of similar shifty changes in 2020 that gave the state legislature more power over counties and elected officials... good to see it not being used in this case
