Hush is a very tense movie. I liked it a lot.

If you're into Indie Horror "It Follows" is a must watch.

Also Scream 1 is a yearly rewatch for me.
Hush looks...super familiar to the point where I feel like I watched it, but nah. Haven't. Will though. Thanks. Adding it to my list for this year probably. Have seen It Follows. Very good. And I watched (and rewatched) every Scream movie last year. 1's an all timer, especially for my boy Matthew Lilard. Even if bad movies like 13 Ghosts he shines. Dead Man's Curve's another one I probably liked a lot more cause he was in it, but I remember that being a real solid late 90s movie, though that's more of a thriller from what I remember. Also Finder's Fee. All those late 90s early 00s movies when I was like 12 with HBO lol.

The Serpent and the Rainbow is classic 80s horror movie.

Haitian voodoo and zombies make for a good one.
Heard of it. Never seen it. Should probably check it out. Thanks.

Seen it.

Sinister.
Seen it. Also the sequel. Thought they were both solid enough watches.

Seen all 6 of those. Trick 'r Treat's such a good Halloween time movie man. Oculus was surprisingly good and there's one scene that always stayed with me. The lightbulb. Babadook was good, but kinda got it over hyped by people before I watched it. The Shining's in my top 3 horror movies ever and possibly #1. I wasn't crazy about Insidious back when it came out, but a lot of people really like it. Maybe I should give it a second go.

As for the second list I just wanna add Coraline.

Smile
Midsommar
Hereditary
Sinister
I've yet to see Smile. Could be a passable shlocky slasher? IDK. Just never looked like much, but if you're recommending it I'll consider it. I always throw in some movies that might surprise me.

Midsommar was alright, but was hoping for more because I thought Hereditary was great.
