With the Marlins, they've been bad for so long that I'm happy that they're better this year, even if they're still not that great. But with the Cardinals, they've been "decent" for so long that I'm actually happy that they finally suck bad enough that maybe there will actually be some meaningful changes. If the Marlins manage to slip into the playoffs as a wild card, I'll definitely be cheering for them. I'd be happy if pretty much anyone left except the Dodgers, Braves, or Astros won the World Series though.
Also, I'd like to point out: outside of the 2020 COVID year outlier, the Marlins have won the World Series every single year (all two of them!) that they've made the playoffs.
