Why do people even wanna work in their 70s and up?
People like to feel useful and have purpose throughout their life, and for many their profession gives meaning.

But, then we have the fact that being a federal judge gives you a non insignificant sum of power. You get to dole out punishments to other people for not showing YOU the proper levels of respect. They probably never have to pay out of pocket for a meal, and have their housing and other 'incidental' costs comped or highly discounted.

All on top of a salary that would run well into six figures, with top of the line benefits, insurance, massive tax breaks, and a pension that will almost certainly never be in danger of being lost.

Who WOULDN'T want to give that up? It doesn't surprise me in the least that the suspension happened. Judges have the potential to be the ultimate Karens.

Me? Make ME go for a medical competency test? I can have your bar and medical license revoked by the end of the week!
