By and large, I support smaller government and fiscal responsibility. If anything, I'm probably more of a Libertarian, but since any attempt at a more-than-two-party system in this country falls apart before it even starts, I stick with the party that represents the majority of my views for voting. Have I voted for things proposed by Democrats? Absolutely. But, as the Democrats generally look for further strengthening the government's control over things, I oppose that, and the Republicans generally have a viewpoint of at least limiting the control to some extent - though I don't think it's enough, personally. I just think that of the two evils readily available, I personally feel the Republicans offer less evil, and I support your right to disagree with that.

But Republicans aren't small government or fiscally conservative. Obviously there are other reasons why you vote for them. What are they?

Ahhh, yes, a clever insinuation that I must be racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever because I vote a certain way; although, I'm fairly certain you know pretty much nothing about me other than I tend to vote Republican. I get it. You have a world view that everyone who doesn't toe the line and agree with everything in your mind is just an awful person because modern humanity doesn't believe in actually having discourse anymore.

You vote for the racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic party. Even if you really aren't any of that, you're fine with it all as long as you get what you want. You're complicit in it and enable horrible treatment of others.

It's basically people who watch dystopian movies and go "I want that!" Just more of letting the rich do whatever they want.
