The lack of sentience argument used to dismiss this issue is pretty flimsy. We put fictional characters in relationships with each other all the time. Marge and Homer didnt give their consent to be married to each other for example. We arent hurting them in that case and we arent hurting them if a real human wants to marry one either. The only hurt we are causing is if we dismiss the real humans feelings as illegitimate.Have you seen Pleasantville? Or Westworld? Those characters couldn't give consent, and yet it was still wrong. As for Marge and Homer, they are a consensual couple within the confined of their world. Now if that Human were to isekai themselves into the fictional characters world, then there's a chance consent could be given. And why should we give real life marriage benefits to a fake couple? We don't even do that for polygamous relationships, and they're real. --- --I understand your opinion. I just don't care about it. ~Jedah-- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
