I know not every married couple does it, but damn is it easy just having a joint checking account and letting my accountant (wife) take care of all the money. She works from home so it's easy for her to handle the finances.

If I need to make a purchase for more than $100 or so I just text her and most of the time she's fine with it.

Yeah that would never work for us. We do have a joint checking account, but its just for paying bills/savings account. We make enough money to not struggle. So after we're done paying the bills, each gets to do with their money whatever they want.
