I tried to watch How I Met Your Father and legit could only watch the first five minutes of it by being turned off by how annoying it was.

As I recall, the mother / Hilary Duff's character, was heading somewhere and called a Lyft driver are similar. When she got in, the driver had his friend in the car and they started talking about how his friend was about to get married.

That's it, stopped it right there. To me, a Lyft driver having their friend in the car while working was absurd right from the get go. Not only that, but once she hopped into the car they started talking as though everyone had been friends for years, though they had only met that very minute.

It was obvious to me that the friend's relationship wasn't going to work out, and he and probably the driver would both become a love interest for the mother. It was all so...dumb and predictable... that I couldn't keep watching.
