People talk about these super corrupt countries in Africa and South America but the only difference between those and the modern GOP is gold plating. Peel that away and US corruption (and UK, and Australian, etc) is just as ugly, just as nasty, as it is in the developing world. We would be seeing political assassinations, journalists disappearing and military coups if our legal systems were weaker. Trump has even hinted at those very things if he gets back in.
