The reason people think it's Berenstein is because the surname "Stein" is more common and recognizable. The reason people think Sinbad was in a genie movie called Shazaam is because his name stage name sounds like something associated with Arabian Nights...also from racists who mistake it for Kazaam. Yeah, this. If the Mandela effect was real, you would expect to see more examples where the parallel reality is orthogonal to "easily explained misconception".
